Hi, I’m Thomas Despin, a 28 years old entrepreneur from France, and I have been living in Indonesia for over 3 years. I am lucky to live on a tiny private island called Buka Buka, where I build a sustainable resort offering an authentic island experience, called Reconnect.

Before developing a remote island from scratch, I used to be in the eCom industry, where I co-founded and grew a dropshipping store from 0 to $750,000 in sales in 11 months.

And before that, I used to travel the world by bicycle, with a project called Startup Cycling. It led me to meet and learn from over 100 CEOs in 20 countries, and 12,000km cycled.

I also created the Hustlers Villa, a coliving and coworking space for online entrepreneurs in Ubud, Bali.

My long term vision in Indonesia (besides becoming a citizen one day), is to facilitate foreign investments and develop high potential untouched areas in a sustainable, conscious and respectful way.
