can’t stop shooting those beautiful sunsets, but I also forget to tell you in which conditions we are living here, as we build Reconnect.
We don’t have a proper shower yet, so we bring the water in the boat, and shower with a small bucket.
We don’t have fridge or a kitchen yet, so we cook with a small stove, right on the floor, and can’t store food for long.
We don’t even have a table yet, and only one chair, that I forced Ladiina to buy, because I couldn’t stand squatting or sitting on the floor to eat anymore (actually, I still sit on the floor in the end..)
Life is not as easy and comfortable as it was in Bali,
but I don’t share this to complain.
I share this because even if I am facing the toughest challenges I have ever faced,
I feel like I am living the best moments of my life.
During the day, I go through a lot of ups and downs, good news and bad news, delays, workers who resign, things that cost more than expected, investors funds that don’t come yet, religious holidays, etc.
But step by step, I see things taking shape.
The vision is much clearer.
I start to really feel the potential of what we are doing here.
And the basic impatient man I am is learning his lesson day in, day out.
Every day, I receive a call or a whatsapp message from people who want to book because they heard of what we do.
“Can we come in 2 days?”
“We are a family of 4, are you open yet?”
We don’t accept guests, yet.
We do accept whoever wants to give a hand and bring his own tent to sleep on the beach, though.
But having to refuse visitors, all while seeing the project taking forever to be built, is a very tough challenge.
Patience.
We are still developing quite fast compared to other in the same region, and our very strategic position helps a lot.
Once again, I am not complaining here.
This whole thing is a crazy dream, and all of those challenges, I chose to face them.
Before I can welcome you there and show you around, you will have to do with yet another beautiful sunset, shot from my terrace.
PS: we will expand the duration of the crowdfunding, and we still need help to complete it. Click here to help us with our desalination system. Thank you for your help.
