Thinking about a new project always gets me excited.
Isn’t it the same for you?
I like to talk about the impact it will make, putting together some strategy, thinking about the product, the marketing, the target market, etc.
It feels great to plan it out, and bounce ideas with other people working on it: “And when we’ll get there, how about doing this, and that?”
– Yes, awesome, this will all be amazing, yippee!
But when comes the execution, and when nothing goes as planned, what do people do? Where are the yippees?
What do you do when nothing goes as planned?
Everyone gets excited about the idea of building a new boat and navigating the World. But nobody wants to fix the boat and keep it afloat when it hits a rock and start sinking.
Sometimes, nobody is even there to start building the boat in the first place.
This is something you have to think about when you start any project.
Because things won’t go as planned.
Do you want it bad enough to spend weeks or months trying to maintain it at the surface while facing the storm?
And think about the crew who say they want to sail with you.
Are they in because the boat looks cool and the whole idea feels great?
Or because they are actually ready to write its story with you?
Are they going to jump into the rescue boat at the first few waves, or will they be there with you on the deck trying to maintain the cap?
I can’t give you any answer today.
All I know is: Indeed, things won’t go as planned.
And when you’ll be right in the middle of the storm,
only Truth will have its word.
Leavers will leave.
Achievers will achieve.
What will you do?
