Like when you cycle or surf.

It’s a combination of different factors, some of which you can impact (pedalling, bending on a side or another, moving your gravity center), some of which you can predict (seeing the shape of the road, the direction of the wave), and some of which you can’t do anything about (sudden wind, other people, random factor).

I used to think “my life is not balance yet, but if I manage to do X, then it will be balanced.”

This was an illusion.

Balance is something you maintain on a daily basis, which each and every choice you make.

Our life is already balanced, by nature.

And everyday we can reorient this balance towards any direction we want.

It’s about what you decide to eat, to say, to do, to write, to think, to read, to work on, etc.

Not about an hypothetical tomorrow that may or may not exist.

We need to delay the gratification,
not the action.
