Nobody is 100% good or bad.

Yet when someone betrays us, we are in shock: “oh my god, but she used to be so nice/reliable/trustable.”

Murderers don’t kill everybody.
Liars don’t lie all the time.
Cheaters don’t cheat with everybody.

I have been an asshole quite a few times in my life.

And I like to believe I am a decent human being most of the time.

So should you trust me?

Do we trust someone because he is more often trustable than not?

What is the proportion of “fucking up” we accept from people to stay friend with them?

I don’t know.

But I know that everybody fucks up,
from time to time.

Everybody.

So should we trust nobody?

And since I fuck up as well,
should I then stop trusting myself?

Of course not.

Nobody is 100% good or bad.

And we need trust to build relationships, businesses, or even nations.

Trust is what all of our society relies on, yet it’s the most fragile thing ever.

You trust the currency enough to accept trading your time for it as a salary.

You trust the government enough to give them taxes to improve the country.

You trust your family to give you the best education and tools to find your place in this World.

Or is it really trust?

Do you really have any other option?

Nobody, and nothing, is 100% good or bad.

You will trust people.

Sometimes they will honor this trust,
and sometimes they will stab you in the back.

Sometimes they will be honest and fair, and sometimes they will steal and lie.

Don’t be in shock when it happens.

We, human, are all imperfect beings, and we all do our best based on our current understanding of the World.

We fuck up.

But we also have the choice to learn from all of this, and to come out each time as a better human being.

Or a worse one.

Either way, whatever people do to you, there are only 2 things you should choose to do, to move forward and get better yourself.

Accepting and forgiving.

If you have ever cheated, stolen or lied to me, I forgive you.

And I hope you will recover, from how much you’ve hurt your own self by doing so.

If I have ever fucked up in any way and hurt you, I hope you will forgive me as well.

Nobody is 100% good or bad.

But everybody can choose to become 1% better.
